Honest Scrap Award

I would like to thank Christina for giving me this award for my blog!  I thought it would be fun to pass it along as well!

Here are the rules:

1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link to their blog.

2. Share 10 honest things about yourself.

3. Present this award to 7 others whose blogs you find brilliant in design or content.

4. Tell those 7 people they have been awarded.

Okay, so for 10 honest things about myself:
1.) I have driving anxiety and I blame my mother for it.  I didn't get my drivers license until I was 21 years old.  I didn't really care to.  I HATE driving somewhere I am not familiar with.  I HATE to get lost or think that I may be getting lost.  I get nervous when other people are riding with me, unless it's my sister.  I have gotten better though since moving to Boonville and commuting on the interstate every day.  Chris ALWAYS drives when we are together.  A few weeks ago Chris had a few drinks so I drove and when my best friend texted me and Chris told her I was driving and he would type for me, her response was, "Why is Jade driving???"  haha

2.) I am very unorganized.  It is my nature.  Every year at some point during the year, a student will ask, "Can I help you clean your desk off?"  Oops!  I LOVE when things are neat and organized, I just can't seem to keep things that way.  I think I need to hire someone to help me.

3.) I am a multi-tasker.  I am a Gemini and fit it to a T in this aspect.  I always have several things going on at once.  I can't help it.  I have a cross-stitch, 3 unfinished scrapbooks, a quilt I'm working on.....I simply cannot just finish one thing before moving onto the next.  I like to have options!

4.) I prefer to have a few close friends rather then a lot of friends.  I enjoy friendships that feel as close as family.  I am blessed to have a handful of girlfriends that I feel comfortable around.  That I can cry with, laugh with, and keep in touch with regularly.  I cherish each and every one of these relationships and love these girls like sisters.  You all know who you are!

5.) I have already started buying baby stuff.  I know what I want the nursery to look like and doubt that I will have anything on my registry once I'm pregnant because I'll probably buy everything I want in the first trimester.  I've dreamed of decorating a nursery for over two years now, and even though I may sound like a brat...I KNOW what I want.  There are so many projects I'd like to do around the house, but I'd rather have my dream nursery and just have the rest of the house decorated okay.  I know it's silly since the baby won't even remember its nursery.  But it matters to me.

6.) I like doing things for other people.  So does Chris.  We volunteer probably more then we should.  I think we both bring that out in eachother too.  Maybe it's because we both do that for a living.  Or maybe we chose our professions because we do like to help?

7.) Before my first day of teaching, I kept saying, "There are going to be 20 sets of eyes staring at me."  I was so nervous that I was being trusted to care for and teach all of these children.  Why did anyone trust me??  For the first month or two, I felt nauseous every morning.  I would kneel in front of the toilet and just know I was going to vomit.  It was such a huge responsibility and I took it so seriously.  Thank God, that passed.  I now realize that the students are not the ones to be intimidated by.  They trust me and love me and I try my best to give them what they need.

8.) Some days, I am glad to be home alone while Chris works his 24 hour shifts.  I like some alone time.  Quiet time.  Other days, I miss him a lot and wish he worked a "normal" schedule.

9.) I should probably buy stock in pregnancy tests.  First Response Early Result tests in particular.  I have tried EPT, Dollar Store tests, and cheapie internet strips.  But oh how I love those pink little boxes.  Too bad they don't give me the result I want!  I don't even want to think about how many tests we've bought in the past 2+ years!  I can't help myself.

10.) I used to think it was so ridiculous when people would say, "We're pregnant!"  "No....we are not pregnant" I would think.  Only SHE is pregnant.  The man isn't pregnant too.  There is no baby in his belly.  After our fun little journey, I see this sooooo different.  Right now, WE are not pregnant.  WE are not parents.  WE are going through infertility.  WE will be going through IVF.  And WE will be pregnant.  So brace yourselves folks, WE will be one of those annoying people announcing that "WE are pregnant."

Well, I'm bending the rules a little too Christina!  Here are my top 5 picks, in no particular order:

1.) Matt Miller @ http://www.maybebabyblog.com/ : I found this blog after reading Matt's book, Maybe Baby.  It was so refreshing to read a book about infertility that was not a downer.  It made me laugh.  It put a lump in my throat in certain parts.  Matt's blog has done the same.  I enjoy reading about his new journey now: parenthood.

2.) Christina @ http://littlegraciev.blogspot.com/ : Okay so maybe I'm cheating, since Christina has already received this award.  But she deserves it darn it!  She writes daily updates on her cutie pie, Gracie, and includes at least one adorable picture.  I plan on copying this idea when I have my own little one.

3.) Meredith @ http://meredithslifethoughts.blogspot.com/ : Meredith writes about being a single mother.  She is such an inspiration and her little girl, Olivia, is blessed to have such a strong and loving Mama!

4.) Mary @ http://browniebitez.blogspot.com/ : I love reading Mary's blog.  She blogs about her CHD warrior and raises awareness.  She's an incredible woman and mother.

5.) Ashley @ http://droddydays.blogspot.com/ : Ashley adores being a Mommy to her adorable little guy, Mason, and it shows!  She writes very touching blogs about and to her son.

Okay, there it is!  I hope you enjoyed my 10 facts!  I look forward to reading everyone else's as well!  If you're just now stumbling over here from another blog, check out my other blog, dearbabym.blogspot.com , where I write letters to our future baby.  Thanks again Christina!
